Heroes of Faith - 24 hours of prayer

Join us on 14 May 2021 for a prayer event like no other, as we partner with people around the world to create a global wave of prayer.

Heroes of Faith is our biggest prayer event ever, marking the 18th birthday of Leah Sharibu, the Nigerian schoolgirl abducted by terrorists who refused to renounce her faith in exchange for her freedom.

Nigerian Gospel singer Panam Percy Paul has written a song especially for Leah, ‘Heroes of Faith’ which will be released exclusively at the event. 'Heroes of Faith' also features artists Sinach, Muyiwa, Lou Fellingham, Noel Robinson, Steph MacLeod.

Join us at 7-8pm EST to pray for Leah and also hear testimony from Helen Berhane an Eritrean gospel singer whose story is challenging, inspiring and deeply moving. She was arrested in a 2003 raid on a house where she was teaching young Christians. Beaten and imprisoned, she spent 32 months in a shipping container without adequate ventilation, light, sanitation or food.

How you can get involved

Join our online events on 14 May. During the 24-hour period our teams in the UK, Nigeria, Mexico, Southeast Asia, and the US will each host a one-hour online meeting. We’ll hear from Leah’s family and others showing incredible courage in the face of suffering. We’ll also be joined by MPs and church leaders as we stand as one global Church crying out for breakthrough, justice and freedom.

Commit to pray for one hour on 14 May (individually or with a small group or church). Imagine a prayer baton being passed from person to person, church to church, country to country, as people around the world cry out for breakthrough, justice and freedom. Our aim is for at least 2,400 people to sign up to pray – 100 for every hour.
